COMMITTEE OPTIONS
SOCIAL COMMITTEE – Responsible for planning a variety of social events for the association; i.e., BBQ, Christmas Party, Awards & Installation, Affiliate Mixer, etc…
RPAC COMMITTEE – Responsible for educating members about RPAC, providing political updates, recognizing contributor levels, organizing fundraising events, and applying for NAR grant money to support fundraising.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE – Assist new members with their application, organize member orientation & training, recruit non-members, recognize member milestones & accomplishments, and communicate the member value proposition.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE – Responsible for coordinating continuing education (CE) sessions, scheduling Lunch & Learn events, and bringing professional development opportunities to the association.
AFFILIATE COMMITTEE – Responsible for communicating the value of Affiliate Membership, recruiting new Affiliate Members, and approaching Affiliate Members about sponsoring SEKAR events.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE–To facilitate nominations for annual elections for SEKAR Officers, Directors, Directors at Large. Facilitates selections of annual awards and years of service honorees.
MLS COMMITTEE – Responsible to develop and make recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning issues and policies relating to the operation of board-owned and operated multiple listing services; and to advise members of current developments that could have an effect on board-operated multiple listing services.
GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE – To review matters which involve a request for arbitration or an ethics complaint against a members(s) of SEKAR. Reports the situation to the Board of Directors and possibly turns the matter over to Professional Standards at KAR. The committee will review training materials upon appointment to help understand how to consider and make knowledgeable dispositions of ethics complaints and arbitration requests.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE – To advise and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters relating to the Code of Ethics; upon receiving notice of lack of enforcement thereof by members, the Committee inquiries into the situation, seeks remedial action and, if necessary, brings to the attention of the Board of Directors or the proper official of the Association in case of failure or refusal to enforce the Code.
